Why Birds Fly in ‘V’ Formation?

Haven’t you asked yourself or were you’d been curious enough to ask why birds form ‘V’ when they fly in a flock?

Birds Fly in 'V' Form

I actually asked not just myself before, but also some people including my mom. But sad to know, they all do not know what really the reason behind why they form ‘V’ shape and how they perfectly do it.

Good enough, researchers from Royal Veterinary College in London made a thorough investigation about this and revealed that birds do know what they’re doing and they do are aware where the other birds are. The researchers, in fact, concluded that each bird able to lift the tip of the wings of the bird ahead of them and with that position, birds can do timing of their wing beats.

Isn’t that a clever move for those birds? Next time, I should have a recorder with me, not just an olympus ls-10, but a video recorder so I can perfectly catch how birds form ‘V’ in the sky.

Exciting! Isn’t it?

Prehistoric Flamingo Nest with Eggs Discovered in Spain

If only I can fly – as in very now, to Spain just to see myself the so-called Prehistoric Flamingo Nest with Eggs that has been reported.

Accordingly, the bird’s nest cradled more than five (5) eggs which scientists believed to be the eggs of ancient flamingo. Isn’t this awesome to think about — that after how many million years, there are still evidences left until today of the existence of those creatures; not just relics but really real ones!

How I wish — how I really just wish to see these discoveries that were found in Ebro Basin in Northeastern Spain. Hmf! This made me more curious of the life of those creatures before.
