It’s been more than a year since I don’t have pet fishes at home. In as much as I really wanted to have even just one pet fish in a small aquarium, I still can’t do because having a pet here is a no no!
So what I did, just to treat me from drooling out of having my own pet fish, I used to go to pet shops and feed my eyes with different pet fishes. And aside from that, I also check online which fishes are in-style from time to time.
Speaking of in-style fishes, I want to share here the trending fishes for a good luck charm this coming new year of 2014.
AROWANA FISHES. This is one of the most common fishes I used to check by at every Chinese stores if they happen to have an aquarium. Yes, definitely a common one since according to Chinese beliefs, Arowana fishes are symbol of good health, wealth and power. And the most striking to Arowana fishes is that, they are believed to drive away evil or bad omens.
GOLD FISHES. Gold fishes are believed to drive in positivity to the house, or any where they are placed at. They also believed to bring in harmony to the family or in any relationship especially if there are 2 Gold fishes in an aquarium.
So far, these two fishes are what I used to hear in bringing in good luck. And still, I won’t be able to rear even one, so I hope, with this simple post, I can impart to you these ideas.
Music is soothing and relaxing. If you think that only human beings love music, you are wrong because fishes do love music too.
My aquarium at home is filled with lovely, lively, and relaxing fishes of different colors. While watching them swim I do them a favor of playing my favorite music using my newly purchased stanton c.402 at guitar center. I can really see they love the music played because they swim in different direction and they look active. The good thing about this CD/MP3 player is its DJ rugged durability. Meaning it will not easily wear out with everyday use.

I didn’t notice not until I seriously put an eye on the aquarium beads and accessories of our neighbor’s aquarium that it was looking like Pandora bracelets from Reeds.com, I mean, those beads.
Yes! Those beads are looking very elegant in either as bracelet beads or aquarium beads. What do you think?
What we also have at home are somehow the same as the picture above but not as shiny as those. But yet still provides beauty to the aquariums and color to add to the fishes.
I just shared in my previous posts in my other blog how ‘trying hard’ I was in doing some home repairs here in our new place.

Yes, and again, I tried doing the aquarium tray myself. But because of my bumps, only limited stuff were perfectly done as I assumed. Not all the manly tasks were done but at least, I’ve made a few. After doing those, I still realized I need a more professional worker to do the welding of the cloth hangers or maybe, a welding supply company to provide me materials and safety and protective devices so I can work on them then.
Actually, M was somehow angry when he knew I was working on some manly tasks at home because he was afraid if there might be something bad to happen to me and to our baby. That basically one of the things I learned — I should have just waited for him to do all those tasks.
Recycled materials are also good idea to be used at home. This does not exclude aquarium stands.
Yes, you heard me right. To be able to maximize all the stuff that are not working already at home, we thought of still using them, not its usual use but in other ways. We actually have old music converter, the one looking the same like behringer ada8000 ultragain pro 8-ch a/d & d/a converter at musician’s friend, which M thought of utilizing it as a recycled aquarium stand. We have not installed the converter as an aquarium stand yet, we still carefully planning for it. Other stuff that we are thinking of recycling are those old cabinets and plastic containers where we can also use as breeding place for other fishes.
