For a long time, I have not been into rearing fishes nor having an aquarium here in our place because of the fact that I really cannot attend to those fishes anymore. Although, my little man really do love having pet fishes, I just always speak to him explaining how to take care of those fish but his mom just cannot. I told him that I prefer to be at his side and take care of him the whole day rather than in those fishes.
But just very recently, along with the upcoming birthday celebration of my son, he always mention to have fish-themed party. I did not say yes nor disagreed because we already had that theme last year, on his 2nd birthday. This time around, I wanted him to have a new birthday theme. So he chose other ideas. But still, he is insisting to have pet fishes at home after seeing from our neighbor an old studio rack being used as an aquarium stand. I haven’t seen it myself but our house helper mentioned one time when she and my little man went to our neighbor’s house.
I do not know what should I do but I am certain for now that I won’t have an aquarium yet here, even how small that aquarium would be.
*Image is not mine.
I had been encouraging my friends who also love to pet fishes to use recyclable stuff for their fishes instead of buying new ones. This is for them to save money from spending those new stuff and also to help minimize trashes which are yet usable.
Reusable TV as Aquarium (image from boredpanda.com)
One example is the image above. As you can, that is an old television set. But there are other old items which we thought are not useful anymore at home but still can be used as aquarium. A very good example is an old speaker. Of course, you cannot just use iloud speakers since those are small. Utilize the bigger speakers so that a number of fishes can be accommodated.
I have not tried one yet since we do not have old speakers here. But I will make sure to share to you here once I got to make an old speaker as an aquarium.
I am already trying to fix things for our new abode even just in my mind – just a simple plans yet. Figuring out how things would turn out if these and those will be fixed here and there just to make sure that all of our stuff will all be set inside the house. But there’s only one thing that my little man is always reminding me to have near his play area at home. Do you guys can guess what is it?
It is actually his indoor aquarium. The good thing is that my hubby designed his toy cabinet and displayer with a heavy duty drawer using a fulterer pantry slide to make sure that our medium-sized aquarium will be displayed in Zach’s cabinet in his play area.
I just so wish that the cabinet won’t break and will serve its purpose for a long time even though we will put a heavy stuff there like the aquarium with water and a number of gold koi fishes inside. I will sure to share here very soon, maybe after the holidays, how this plan would come out.
Music has always been a good stuff not just for humans to relax and feel comfortable, but also to fishes and other animals. In fact, I personally have visited several pet shops here in Metro Manila which install sound system and play relaxing music for their for sale animals. This then gave me idea that when I have my own aquarium soon, I will also include installing a sound system for my pet fishes.
But of course, this time, I will be installing a water-proof sound system then. I want to have the sound system inside the aquarium instead.
Well, as other usual or regular sound system has, this water-proof sound system for home aquariums also compose of a number of components which include a 2-ai digital mixer. I am not sure yet if any mixer would be compatible for this water-proof sound system, but I will look for one that would surely fit then.
Anyhow, I will keep you guys posted of my aquarium journey to creation here in my fish blog.
Since I noticed that my little man really enjoy watching real fishes in our house in our hometown and even loved to play with toy fishes, I was almost to pursue my plan to assemble an aquarium here in our small crib. And exactly a week after we arrived here, I and hubby were looking for stuff to make that aquarium realized.
To our excitement, we brought our little man to a Japan surplus shop where there was aquarium surplus displayed. So we let him pick his stuff of choice to include inside his aquarium. But we were surprised that what he actually was grabbing were musical instrument toys including some hard ware stuff like small volts, screw and even a 1 4 stereo jack. I didn’t recognized it at first, but my hubby did. We just laughed at our little man for we were sure that he still didn’t really knew what he did. What’s sure for him is that he just enjoyed and had fun picking stuff which he thought were just knew toys he never had at home.
Should I say, our first attempt to assemble aquarium at home was never a success. There is still a second time, though I can’t say it would be that good, but I am not losing hope and still praying for things to be just fine.
