Solar-powered Sea Slug

Tiny living creatures really amaze me. Just recently, this was what I found lurking over the internet for newly found and discovered animals — the Solar-powered Sea Slug.

This Sea slug is named Elysia chlorotica. Accordingly, this is a lurid green sea slug. This has a gelatinous leaf-shaped body that can be found in Atlantic seaboard of the United States. It can be powered by solar energy.

According to Mary Rumpho, the researcher for E. chlorotica, “it photosynthesises with genes “stolen” from the algae it eats”. Cool, right?!?!?
